Nick of Time Foundation is a proud partner with the Heart of Seattle Schools Project To educate the community on sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), the safety and need for AEDs & CPR training, and to place AEDs into every public school in Seattle. Heart of Seattle Schools Project – Specific Goals 1. Equip all Seattle public schools with at least one AED 2. Assist each school in the development of a comprehensive emergency response plan for SCA includingCPR/AED training of anticipated responders, establishing a communication system in case of an emergency, practice and review of the plan, and registering all AEDs with the local EMS system 3. Provide all students training in CPR prior to graduation from high school. Through private funding, the Heart of Seattle Schools Project will assist the Seattle School District implement an AED program in every school, raise awareness regarding SCA, and produce a safer community. PHW is an organization founded by parents who have either lost a child to SCA or whose child is at known risk for SCA. PHW grew from the friendship of Rachel Moyer, PA, Linette Derminer, OH, Sharon Bates, AZ, and Laura Friend, TX, all who lost their children to sudden cardiac arrest resulting from undiagnosed heart problems.
